The Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur, saw a footfall of more than three lakh visitors during the months of April and May, the zoo said in a press release. To improve visitor experience, the zoo recently installed five automated ticket kiosks. The release said that the zoo had also launched a new hop-on, hop-off service, to enable visitors to see all major attractions. Moreover, seven mist chambers were placed throughout the park, offering a respite from the heat. To ensure animal welfare, the zoo had implemented several special measures. These include shade nets for the white tiger and exotic birds, and water showers for large herbivores. Cervids have got extra shade, water, and special feeds, the release added.
