The Breakthrough Science Society (BSS), Madurai Chapter, here on Friday organised the India March for Science rally with the primary objective of creating awareness among the public and students of the pressing issue of climate change and its causes.
The participants began the march at Tamukkam grounds and concluded at the Gandhi Museum.
Students and volunteers raised slogans urging the society to curb practices that harm the atmosphere and accelerate climate change.
At the concluding session, a pledge on environmental responsibility was administered by Abdul Kadir, president of BSS.
The rally witnessed the participation of students, NCC cadets, and NSS volunteers from several city colleges and schools, including Meenakshi College, Wakf Board College, Madura College, Tamil Nadu Polytechnic College, Women’s Polytechnic College, and Madura College School.
