The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducted the preliminary examination for Group I services across various centres in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts on Sunday.

In Coimbatore district, the exam was held in 48 centres — 41 in Coimbatore and seven in Pollachi. Of the 12,997 candidates who were allotted hall tickets, 9,013 (69.35%) appeared for the exam.

In Tiruppur district, the examination was held in 16 centres. Of the total 4,303 candidates allotted, 3,202 appeared, and 1,101 candidates were absent.
