Freestyle wrestler Jaskaran Singh, the 2023 Asian under-20 champion in 65kg, has been handed a three-year suspension for testing positive for a banned substance.

Jaskaran tested positive for SARMS LGD-4033 (ligandrol) metabolite (which improves muscle mass) following an in-competition test during the 2023 Asian championships in Amman, the International Testing Agency (ITA), on behalf of United World Wrestling (UWW), said in a statement on Thursday.

For Jaskaran, who was provisionally suspended with immediate effect, the three-year sanction began from the date of sample collection (July 19, 2023) after it was reduced by one year due to his early admission of the anti-doping rule violation. Besides, his results, including the Asian under-20 title, were disqualified.
