Traffic diversions have been announced by the Coimbatore City Police to facilitate flyover construction work on Mettupalayam Road near Saibaba Colony from August 12 and it is expected to continue for 90 days.
All heavy vehicles, travelling towards Mettupalayam from Gandhipuram, Poomarket, and Vadakovai via Mettupalayam Road should turn left at Avinashilingam College junction, proceed along Bharathi Park Road to the GCT College roundabout, turn right, and continue on Thadagam Road towards Venkitapuram, Kovil Medu, and Edayarpalayam junction. From there, they should take a right onto Kavundampalayam Road and continue towards Mettupalayam via Thudiyalur.
Light and heavy vehicles travelling towards the city via Kavundampalayam may proceed without restrictions.
Vehicles bound for Gandhipuram and Avinashi Road can reach Ganapathy through Nallampalayam and proceed via Gandhipuram. Alternatively, motorists can turn right at Sanganoor Junction, pass through Kannappa Nagar Pudhupaalam to reach Sivanandha Colony, and continue towards Gandhipuram.
Buses and goods vehicles heading to Mettupalayam from Sivanandha Colony can turn left at ARC Junction, take a right at the Ganga Hospital–Alagesan Road junction, proceed along Alagesan Road to reach Thadagam Road, and continue towards Venkitapuram, Kovil Medu, and Edayarpalayam before heading to Mettupalayam.
All heavy vehicles entering the city via NSR road can turn right at the NSR road-State bank junction and continue via Raja Annamalai road and reach Bharathi Park road, then take left to reach Mettupalayam Road at the Avinashilingam college junction.
