Two persons, who are accused in attempt to murder cases, have been detained under the Goondas Act.

An official statement said J. Parthiban, 20, of Rajendra Nagar in Palayamkottai and M. Hari Subramanian, 20, of Vasavappapuram in Thoothukudi district have been accused in attempt to murder, threatening the public and a few more cases. They were arrested and lodged in the prison.

Since they are inimical to public harmony and maintenance of law and order, Inspector of Police, Palayamkottai, Kasi Pandian, Assistant Commissioner (In-Charge), Nixon and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli East, V. Vinodh Santharam recommended to the Commissioner of Police to detain them under the Goondas Act.

Subsequently, Commissioner of Police (In-Charge), Tirunelveli City, Abhinav Kumar ordered the detention of Parthiban and Hari Subramanian under the Goondas Act on Saturday.
