The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has launched an online system to issue licences for erecting hoardings across its 15 zones. Effective May 21, 2025, all applications for hoarding permissions must be submitted through the Corporation’s official website.

The online platform allows applicants to submit applications, upload documents, make digital payments, track status, and receive approvals electronically.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday (May 28, 2025), applications are processed by the respective zonal teams and forwarded to the Traffic Police Department for a No Objection Certificate (NOC). The release said the proposals are then placed before the Single Window Approval Committee, which meets once every month.
Approvals granted by the Committee are communicated digitally. The final approval is issued upon receipt of the prescribed fee through the online payment gateway, the release stated.
To apply, visit https://chennaicorporation.gov.in and access the ‘Hoardings Approval’ menu under online services for detailed guidelines, the release added.
