Ahead of the 2026 Assembly election, the Tamil Nadu BJP, which has aligned with the AIADMK, is set to organise a series of zonal-level conferences for booth committee members, aimed at strengthening the party’s organisational structure at the grassroots. The first such conference will be held in Tirunelveli on August 17.

BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Sunday inaugurated a training programme for booth committee office-bearers at a private college on the outskirts of Chennai. Mr. Nagenthran said the DMK would be unseated in 2026 and the roadmap had been laid out by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He urged the booth committee members to intensify grassroots work and coordinate with the AIADMK to ensure the front’s victory.

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan called on the party cadre to highlight the achievements of the BJP-led Centre over the last 11 years, particularly its initiatives for farmers and youth. Senior party leaders, including Tamilisai Soundararajan, Arvind Menon, and P. Sudhakar Reddy, participated.

According to party sources, zonal-level conferences are expected to be held at Tiruvallur, Coimbatore, Tiruvannamalai, Salem, Madurai, and Thanjavur in the coming months.
