Kwik eCabs, an electric taxi service, was launched in Tiruchi on Friday, with the aim of reducing carbon footprint and enhancing urban mobility in the city.

According to an official release, the service was flagged off by Rathnakumar, managing director, Ramyas Hotel. Ajay Jayaraj, MD, The Jayaraj Group and Kwik eCabs, was present.

Kwik eCabs rides can be booked through an app and dedicated call centre. The fares will be based on digital payments and there will be no surge pricing, said the release. The company plans to deploy a fleet of 100 cars over the next three years.
