A leopard that was in a distress was saved by the forest officials of Adoni range on Sunday (June 15, 2025) night. A bone reportedly got stuck in the leopard’s throat and veterinary doctors are attending to it, forest officials said.

Farmers spotted the leopard lying near the Basannagutta forest area in Kosigi mandal of the district and informed the Adoni range forest officials. The leopard was growling with pain and was not moving by the time forest officials reached there. The leopard was tranquilised and caught with the help of nets by forest officials and locals. It was later shifted to Adoni range forest office where doctors are treating it.

The leopard will be released back into the wild after it recovers, officials said.
