Mohammed Muzaffar Hussain, the corporator from Santosh Nagar division, passed away on Tuesday (June 3, 2025) following a heart attack. He was 55.

According to sources, Mr. Hussain had attended the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Council meeting earlier on Wednesday and returned to his house in Madannapet. He later felt unwell and contacted an associate. However, he passed away while being taken to hospital.

News of his sudden demise was met with shock and grief across the rank and file of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, a party of which he was a long-time member. Senior AIMIM leadership, including Asaduddin Owaisi, and party floor leader in the Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi, condoled his passing. AIMIM legislators, such as Jafar Hussain Meraj, and Mohammed Majid Hussain, corporators, and other party workers visited his residence to offer condolences.

Hussain, a two-time corporator, had contested the GHMC elections and was first elected in 2016. His funeral prayers will be held on May 5 at Masjid-e-Meraj after zohar (afternoon) prayers. He will be laid to rest at a Chanchalguda graveyard.
