Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat and CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, Singapore, Mike Barclay, along with their respective team members, visited Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) as part of a strategic visit to the eco-conservation and biodiversity zones, on Tuesday.
IGZP Curator G. Mangamma briefed the visiting team on the zoo’s animal collection, veterinary care, zoo education programmes, rich flora and fauna and the upcoming projects aimed at enhancing both visitors’ experience and conservation efforts.
She shared information about the animal enrichment and developmental activities.
Mr. Sribharat emphasised the need for developing the IGZP into a major tourist attraction. He said that efforts should be made to transform the zoo to global standards on the lines of Singapore’s Mandai Zoo. He assured that steps would be taken to support the zoo’s development through international collaborations.
The team interacted with the staff, zookeepers. Vice President, Attractions Development, Marc Cremades and others were present.
