Appealing to the corporation officials to take action against two individuals encroaching upon the common path and the removal of the shed they had erected, a group of residents from Gandhi Nagar in Palayamkottai submitted petition on Tuesday.

In their petition, the residents of Udangudi Street of Gandhi Nagar in Samathanapuram said the common path of their street had been illegally occupied by two individuals who had erected shed. Even though the corporation officials had already warned the duo of stern action if they did not remove this illegal structure, they continue to defy the law.

Hence, the Corporation officials should take action as per law against the encroachers and remove the shed, they said.

The village head of Sundarapuram near Thatchanallur P. Narayanan appealed to the officials to re-lay the road dug for laying pipes for the underground drainage work before the temple festival to be held in their area in August.

On behalf of the residents of Golden City in Pettai, M. Duraisamy submitted a petition seeking installation of street lights on the eastern side of their colony.
