Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy issued directions to form a committee on setting up ‘goshalas’ in the State. The facilities should be spread over land not less than 50 acres. It should be ensured that the cows can roam and graze freely.

In the first phase, goshalas should be set up on lands of temples, veterinary university and colleges, and agriculture university and colleges, suggested the Chief Minister at a meeting held in Hyderabad on Saturday (May 31, 2025). Available sites should be identified. A comprehensive plan should be prepared on the budget needed for construction and maintenance of goshalas.

The Chief Minister reviewed the designs for the goshala to be set up in Yenkapally of Moinabad mandal in Ranga Reddy and suggested changes. The government would finalise a model in the coming few days.

Special Chief Secretary of Animal Husbandry department Sabyasachi Ghosh, director B Gopi, officials from Chief Minister’s Office, Hyderabad Municipal Development Authority commissioner Sarfraz Ahmed, Rangareddy collector Narayan Reddy and others were present on the occasion.
