Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy assured farmers not to fear unnecessarily regarding the southern part of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) as the government will move forward only with the consent of farmers.

He said that a ministerial committee would soon be constituted after consultations with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to address concerns related to land acquisition and alignment. “There will be no injustice in the RRR alignment. I will never remain silent if any injustice is done to our farmers or our region,” he added.

Speaking to the media in Chityal on Saturday, he said that tender process for the northern part of the RRR will begin within two months and works are expected to commence by January 2026. The tendering process will be completed by December.

“When I became a Minister, only 6% of land acquisition was completed. We persuaded the farmers and achieved over 98% acquisition. The KCR government showed no concern for this crucial project despite the Centre’s approval in 2017–18,” he said.

The Minister announced that the original 4-lane RRR has been redesigned as a 6-lane road in view of projected traffic congestion by 2035. The 161.5 km stretch will pass through Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Bhongir and Choutuppal.

He said ₹6,000 crore has been earmarked for land acquisition, with costs shared equally by the State and Centre. “The State’s ₹3,000 crore share has already been arranged through HUDCO,” he added.

Mr. Komatireddy said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has been personally supportive of Telangana’s infrastructure development. “He issued approvals for the Gourelli–Bhadrachalam Highway and LB Nagar–Malkapuram Road on my recommendation,” he said.
