SankalpTaru Foundation, in partnership with NTT DATA, has announced the launch of Phase II of its ‘Community Barren Land Restoration Programme’ near Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore, under NTT DATA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

In Phase I, completed during 2024–25, 3,500 trees were planted, transforming a 7-acre former dump yard into a green space. Phase II will see the plantation of an additional 3,500 trees in 2025–26.

Gauri Bahulkar, Senior Director of Global Corporate Social Responsibility, NTT DATA, said, “Through our CSR initiatives, including this meaningful collaboration with SankalpTaru Foundation, we have planted over 17,500 trees across India.”

Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar, District Collector, said that such efforts will create awareness among the public and encourage schools, colleges, and corporates to actively participate in conserving our native trees and protecting the environment.
