Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will celebrate Vijayadashami with soldiers at the Bhuj military base during his two-day visit beginning on October 1, 2025 (Wednesday).
On the first day, he will join troops for ‘Bada Khana,’ while on Dussehra he will perform ‘Shastra Puja’ at the Bhuj base and celebrate the festival with personnel of the Army and Indian Air Force. He will also travel to the forward post at Harami Nala near the India-Pakistan border to interact with the Army and BSF personnel.
This will be his second visit to Bhuj after Operation Sindoor. The Bhuj air force station, which was among the targets during the operation, holds a special place in India’s defence history. His visit marks part of the commemorations of the diamond jubilee of India’s 1965 war victory, in which the Bhuj air base played a significant role. Earlier, he had interacted with 1965 war veterans at an event in South Block.
The visit comes months after Pakistan’s large-scale drone and missile strikes on May 7–8 against Indian air bases in the Northern and Western sectors, which were successfully intercepted by the country’s Integrated Counter-UAS Grid and Air Defence system.
