Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the Revenue and other departments officials to expedite acquisition of land for the southern and northern sections of the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR).

He gave several suggestions to the officials on the construction of the RRR southern and northern sections as well as the radial roads connecting the ambitious project with the core of the city. The Chief Minister gave the instructions during a meeting with senior officials in Hyderabad on Monday (September 22, 2025), to review the status of the national and state highways.

Final decision on greenfield expressway route map

He directed the officials to take a final decision on the route map of the greenfield expressway proposed between Hyderabad and Machilipatnam port at the earliest. Steps should be initiated to secure necessary approvals from the Central Government pertaining to the elevated corridor proposed on the Hyderabad-Srisailam highway, part of which passes through the tiger reserve.

Mr. Reddy spoke to collectors of different districts through a video conference over the status of the highways in their respective jurisdiction. He wanted them to speed up land acquisition pending in some districts for taking up works. Steps should be taken to provide compensation to farmers who would lose their lands for the highways, he said setting October 31 deadline for them to complete land acquisition.

In respect of lands locked in legal issues, the district collectors should hold consultations with senior officials to explore ways for their resolution.
