Yet again, Delhi schools have been the target for bomb threats on Saturday, becoming a subject for police scrutiny.

The bomb threat e-mails for over 100 city schools led to the evacuation of students and staff members from the institutions before being declared as ‘hoax’, a senior Delhi Police officer said.

The targeted schools were abuzz with a threatening e-mail with a subject reading, ‘Bombs Placed in Your Building – React or Face the Disaster’, which had landed at 6.10 a.m. from a group – ‘Terrorizers111’, the officer added.

Subsequently, the Delhi Fire Services, police teams and bomb disposal teams were rushed to the spots, according to officials. Over 100 schools received such mails, including Delhi Public School in Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in the south, CRPF Public School in Dwarka, and Mata Vidya Devi Public School in Najafgarh.

“We have thoroughly checked the campuses. Nothing suspicious has been found,” a senior police officer said.

Authorities are probing the source of the threats and whether they were part of a coordinated attempt to create panic, police said.

AAP’s barb at govt.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal took to X to launch a sharp attack on the “four-engine” BJP government.

“Delhi’s schools are repeatedly receiving bomb threats. Panic ensues everywhere, schools are shut down, and fear spreads among children and parents… but a year later, no one has been caught, nor has any action been taken. The four-engine BJP government can’t even manage the Capital’s security. Parents are living in fear every day. When will all this end?,” his post read.
