Normal life continues to be disrupted in Ernakulam amidst heavy rains and strong winds on Friday (May 30, 3035)

As per an alert issued by the district administration at 9.15 a.m, a red alert has been issued for Ernakulam for the next three hours only. The district is expected to face strong winds up to 60 kmph.

An 85-year-old native of Thirumaradi village died after a tree fell over her on Thursday (May 29) evening. Annakutty of Ammamkulam, Karavetta, who was a worker under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, was returning home after work when the tragedy occurred, according to an official release.

Muvattupuzha water level rises

The water level in the Muvattupuzha river has gone up following the heavy rain. The water level recorded at 8 a.m on Friday was 11.05 metres against the flood-warning level of 10.92 metres. People living along the banks of the river have been advised to be cautious against the rising water level.
