Hyderabad Traffic Police issued an advisory announcing diversions and restrictions in connection with the annual Khairatabad Bada Ganesh installation. The measures will be in place every day from August 27 to September 6, between 11 a.m. and late at night, depending on the flow of devotees.

Traffic movement from VV Statue towards Mint Compound will be diverted at Rajiv Gandhi Statue towards Nirankari junction, while vehicles from Old Saifabad PS towards Bada Ganesh via Rajdoot lane will be redirected at Rajdoot lane towards Iqbal Minar. Traffic from Iqbal Minar towards IMAX Theatre via Mint Compound will instead be diverted at Secretariat Temple X Road to Telugu Thalli junction.

Similarly, vehicles from Necklace Rotary towards Mint Compound will be diverted either towards Telugu Thalli junction or the Khairatabad flyover. Traffic from Nirankari via Khairatabad Post Office lane towards Khairatabad Railway gate will also be redirected at the Post Office junction.

Officials said congestion can be expected at Khairatabad, Shadan College, Nirankari, Old PS Saifabad, Mint Compound and Necklace Rotary during the period. Devotees are advised to avoid these routes and opt for public transport such as Metro Rail, MMTS and RTC buses. Carpooling has also been recommended to reduce congestion.

Parking for visitors will be arranged at Race Road, NTR Ghat, HMDA parking beside IMAX Theatre, an open site opposite IMAX, Saraswathi Vidya Mandir High School, and Vishveshwaraiah Bhavan near Khairatabad junction.

In case of emergencies, commuters may call the traffic helpline (9010203626) for assistance. Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D. Joel Davis, urged citizens to cooperate with the restrictions and follow the advisory.
