A man died, and his wife was left critically injured when a miscreant barged into their house in Swaroop Nagar, outer Delhi, and fired at them, a police officer said on Thursday.

The deceased, identified as Ashok, 42, was rushed to a hospital but pronounced dead. His wife, Rachna, 40, is in a serious condition.

According to police, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Wednesday when Dinesh Chand alias Golu arrived at the couple’s house in the Kadi Vihar area and fired several rounds at them before fleeing in a car waiting outside, creating panic in the area.

The police are yet to nab any of the assailants.
