A clerk in City Hospital of Cuttack, who was alleged to have amassed disproportionate assets which were 201% in excess of his known sources of income, was arrested on Saturday (August 23, 2025).
During search by Odisha Vigilance, an anti-corruption wing, huge property was detected from Kishore Kumar Sahani, Senior Assistant, City Hospital. The man possessed one triple-storeyed building measuring an area of 2500 Sq. ft. located at Jobra Nuasahi in Cuttack.
Besides, one building and poultry farm sprawling over land of 2.5 acres near Choudwar on the outskirt of Cuttack. There were 19 high value plots including 18 plots in and around Cuttack town and while one was found near Jatni in Khordha.
Vigilance sleuths recovered cash of ₹ 3,30,800, gold ornaments weighing 135 gms, bank and postal deposits worth ₹55,48,406, one four-wheeler, three two-wheelers and household articles worth around ₹11 Lakhs were traced from him.
“After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sahani were calculated, and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 201% in excess of his known sources of income,” said the Vigilance Department.
