A 12-year-old boy B. Mohammed Asif of Muslim Odai Street was killed after he accidentally fell of an elevator at a printing press unit in Parasakthi Colony on Thursday.

The police said that the boy was taken to the printing press, where his aunt was working, as he was left alone at home after his parents leave home for work.

The boy has been playing on a lift, without doors, used for carrying materials at the unit. He fell down and sustained injuries.

He succumbed to injuries and died on the way to the hospital.

Sivakasi Town police are investigating.
