After spending more than 75 days in the Nellore Central Prison, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, who has been named an accused in the Rustum mining case, will be released on Wednesday.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court granted him bail in the mining case on Monday.

The YSRCP activists were in a celebratory mood as he was supposed to be released from the jail on Tuesday. However, it was postponed due to the delay in bringing the bail papers to the district jail.

As the bail papers were not submitted before 6 p.m., the jail authorities did not release the YSRCP leader. Mr. Govardhan Reddy will be released from jail on Wednesday morning.
