Stray cattle roaming on roads without any home will soon have a shelter. Zone IX of Greater Chennai Corporation (ward 115) is building a goshala. Built at a cost of ₹1,28,00000, the facility is coming up on Peter’s Road in Royapettah.

Cows that are tied on streets and on road side in areas coming under the Chepauk-Thiruvakikeni assembly constituency will be taken care in this goshala, said a press note. The floor area of the building is 330 square metres.

The contract was awarded in November 5 2024 and should be completed in 12 months.
