NilgiriScapes 2025, a conference that brings together researchers, policy makers, conservationists, indigenous communities and cultural practitioners, is to be held from August 21 to 23 at the RCTC Hall in Udhagamandalam.

Over the three-day event, plenaries, panels and cultural sessions will address “Foundations of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve (NBR), Ecology, land use and planning, human wildlife conflict and biodiversity restoration, environmental law, governance and advocacy, communities in conservation among others,” a release from the organisers stated.

Key speakers at the conference will include Benno Boer, Chief of the Natural Sciences Unit at UNESCO, New Delhi, Godwin Vasanth Bosco, restoration practitioner, Tarun Chhabra, ecologist and expert on indigenous Toda culture, and Tarsh Thekaekara, ecologist.
