Over 500 students were awarded degrees and gold and silver medals presented to 22 rank-holders at the Graduation Day – 2025 of Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology held recently.

P. Prakash Babu, Vice Chancellor, Pondicherry University, who was the chief guest, distributed the medals and degree certificates to the students.

A total of 512 graduates from Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Electronics and Communication Engineering; Computer Science and Engineering; Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering and postgraduates from Master of Business Administration, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, were awarded degrees. The college management honoured 22 Pondicherry University rankholders with gold and silver medals.

Delivering the graduation day address, the Vice-Chancellor sought to remind the students that the convocation marked not just the end of a chapter but the start of a transformative journey in an era defined by rapid technological change, especially artificial intelligence (AI).

He urged the graduates to embrace continuous learning and adaptability to stay relevant, as AI reshapes industries by enhancing human intelligence rather than replacing it. The future demands innovators and ethical leaders who leverage technology responsibly to build a just, inclusive, and progressive society, he said.

In his presidential address, M. Dhanasekaran, Chancellor of Takshashila University and Chairman and Managing Director of SMVE Trust, exhorted the graduates to understand that growth extended beyond academics to embracing purpose and passion in their chosen work domain. By combining passion, continuous learning, and gratitude, one can unlock their fullest potential and lead transformative change in this rapidly evolving world, he said.

D. Rajarajan, Treasurer, S. Velayutham, Joint Secretary and D. Nila Priyadharshini, Trustee, felicitated the candidates. S. Malarkkan, College Principal, B. Radjaram, Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering and P.Baskaran, Professor and Head, Department of Management Studies also participated.
