In view of heavy rain forecast for Hyderabad and its potential impact, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner R.V. Karnan on Wednesday (August 13, 2025) afternoon appealed to people not to open manholes. If there are any issues pertaining to manholes, people can lodge the complaints with the control room. The corporation earlier has asked people to dial 040-21111111 for assistance. 

The official said that they are coordinating with police, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) to avoid traffic jams. 

Stating that the Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains from the evening, he has urged people not to step out unless necessary. Leaves of the corporation’s employees were cancelled and senior officials were directed to be at headquarters.
