Telangana Irrigation department officials were directed to keep a close watch on all irrigation projects, reservoirs, canals, tanks and others in view of heavy to very heavy rain forecast for the State for the next three to four days.
Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy directed them to inform the district collector, the district chief engineer concerned and the engineer in chief (Irrigation) at the first sign of any likely breach or damage due to heavy rains.

Mr. Reddy has shared his number among officials to inform him of alarming situations developing in any irrigation department asset or water body anywhere in the State. Leaves of all officials for the next four days were cancelled.

The Principal Secretary (Irrigation) and Engineer in Chief (Irrigation) were instructed to closely monitor the situation in all irrigation projects, reservoirs, canals, tanks in all districts, as per a press release issued on Wednesday (August 13, 2025).
