The Devala All Women Police in the Nilgiris have registered a case against three men for sexually assaulting a group of minor girls near Gudalur.

The three accused were identified as V. Seru, 47, Vellan, 70 and Vijayan, 65, were arrested after three of the victims informed one of their teachers about the abuse, who in turn alerted child welfare services. The police said that all three accused had committed the offences while the victims were playing outside their homes.

The police arrested Seru and are on the lookout for the two other accused.
