The 64th Subroto Cup International football tournament will kick off with the junior girls’ (under-17) competition on August 19 at the Ambedkar Stadium in the City, culminating with the final of the junior boys event on September 25.

The annual event will be organised in a staggered manner and, for the first time, will see the competition spread across cities with Bengaluru hosting the sub-junior boys (under-15) event. The tournament, organised by the Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society (SMSES) under the aegis of the Air Force Sports Control Board, will also have the bone age-determination test for the sub-junior boys category.

While the matches in Delhi-NCR will be held across four venues – Ambedkar Stadium, Tejas football ground, Subroto Park football ground and Pinto Park football ground — the matches in Bengaluru will be played at Air Force School (Jalahalli), Air Force School (Yelahanka) and HQ Training Command football ground from September 2 to 11.

A total of 106 teams will be participating across the three categories including outfits from Nepal and Sri Lanka with seven players selected for advanced training in Germany as part of the Indian Tigers & Tigresses campaign.
