The alumni association of the Government College of Engineering in Salem hosted the Global Alumni Day titled ‘Sangamam 2025’ on Sunday (August 10, 2025).

Kamal Bali, Managing Director and President of Volvo Group India, was the chief guest for the event. R. Kumar, Founder and Chairman of Navin’s Builders; M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power) of NLCIL; V. Balasubramanian, Director of Annamalai University; and S.M. Manimaran were the guests of honour.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Kamal Bali said that major shifts such as emergence of AI, digitalisation, sustainability, and energy transition were happening around the world. India is doing well and is the fastest-growing economy, he added.

Hundreds of former students attended the function with their family members.
