Thottilpalam police have arrested Linish, a local youth, in connection with the death of homemaker Bobby at Pashukkadavu on Friday (August 1).
Linish had allegedly set up an electric trap to capture wild animals in the cocoa plantation where the bodies of Bobby and a cow were later found. The autopsy report confirmed that both had died due to electrocution.
Sources said Linish had previously been accused in multiple cases related to hunting wild animals. He has been charged under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Bobby, 40, was found dead at the cocoa plantation owned by Alakkal Jose. Remnants of the electric trap were recovered near the bodies. Bobby had gone in search of the cow, which had not returned from grazing on Friday afternoon. Bobby’s body was discovered by a local search party around midnight.
