The ongoing construction of a Memorial-cum-Museum in memory of the ruler of the erstwhile Pudukottai Samasthanam Raja Rajagopala Tondaiman on the District Collectorate premises in Pudukottai is expected to be completed by early next year.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced in June 2022 that a memorial would be built in memory of Raja Rajagopala Tondaiman in connection with the latter’s centenary celebrations.

The construction of memorial-cum-museum is under way at a cost of ₹3.02 crore at the southeast corner within the District Collectorate premises in Pudukottai. The memorial is coming up on an area measuring 760.50 square metre with the work being carried out by the Public Works Department.

Official sources said the memorial would have a meeting hall with a seating capacity of 530. The museum would display the items used by Raja Rajagopala Tondaiman. The construction work is expected to be completed by early next year, said an official of the Public Works Department.
