Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that the long-pending elevated corridor between LB Nagar and Pedda Amberpet would be executed on a priority basis. A meeting with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is scheduled for August 6 to push for final clearances, he said after conducting a field inspection at Vanasthalipuram Junction to assess the proposed 6-km-long elevated corridor from LB Nagar to Pedda Amberpet on Sunday.
Accompanied by NH officials, R&B engineers, LB Nagar MLA Devireddy Sudheer Reddy, and others, the Minister reviewed the detailed proposal and design, directing the NH authorities to expedite approvals from the Centre and fast-track the launch of construction activities.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Reddy emphasised that he is well aware of the traffic woes in the LB Nagar locality. “Even during my tenure as MP, I pursued ₹541 crore for the LB Nagar–Malkapur Road. Four vehicle underpasses have already been completed as part of that,” he said.
He further disclosed that the government is gearing up to build a Greenfield Highway connecting Hyderabad and Vijayawada, cutting down travel time to two hours. The Minister also confirmed progress on the Gaurigolla–Valigonda–Bhadrachalam Greenfield Highway, valued at ₹2,300 crore. Construction between Valigonda and Thorrur is complete, and tenders for the Thorrur–Bhadrachalam stretch are under way.
Regarding metro expansion, Mr. Venkat Reddy said CM Revanth Reddy has entrusted him with the responsibility of securing approvals for phase 2. “The Congress government is determined to build a world-class metro. Like phase 1 was achieved under Jaipal Reddy’s leadership, we will now ensure phase 2 becomes a reality,” he added.
