Sugarcane growers who had suppliedto the government cooperative sugar mill have been credited with the support price for the cane procured, according to the district administration.

For the year 2024-25, about 2.28 lakh metric tonnes of cane was procured from 3,543 farmers in the district. The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare had announced a support price of ₹349 per tonne for cane. A cumulative deposit of ₹7.95 crore was alloted.
