As many as 25 workers of an under construction fish processing unit in Baikampady Industrial Area fell ill, following leakage of ammonia on July 31.

According to official sources, the leakage occurred at the Organic Protein Private Limited’s fish processing unit. The workmen were found uneasy after inhaling ammonia. They were admitted to two private hospitals. Three of them were in the intensive care unit.

The official sources said that following treatment, all of them were discharged from the hospitals on Friday.
