Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited film OGwill release in theatres on September 25 during the festival of Dussehra, the makers announced on Sunday (May 25). The film is directed by Sujeeth, who previously helmed Run Raja Run and Prabhas’ Saaho.

DVV Entertainment, the banner backing the film, announced the news on their X handle. Meanwhile, the film’s music composer Thaman S shared a unique glimpse video to announce the release date.

OG is billed as a gangster action drama. A previously released glimpse video, titled ‘Hungry Cheetah – OG,’ presented snapshots of a dark, moody action drama filmed by cinematographer Ravi K Chandran.

The film features Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead. Notably, Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi is making his Telugu debut in the film, playing the role of the antagonist. Arjun Das, Prakash Raj, Sriya Reddy, Harish Uthaman, Abhimanyu Singh, Ajay Ghosh and Subhalekha Sudhakar are also part of the cast.

OG, which went on floors in April 2023, has faced several delays and postponements in release plans due to Kalyan’s political commitments. Hence, the announcement on the release date comes as a news to rejoice for the fans of the star.

Meanwhile, this comes just days after the makers of Kalyan’s upcoming historical action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu announced that the film will hit the screens on June 12. Directed by Jyothi Krishna and Krish Jagarlamudi, it stars Bobby Deol, Niddhi Agerwal, Anupam Kher, Jisshu Sengupta, Nargis Fakhri, M Nassar, Sunil, Raghu Babu, Subbaraju and Nora Fatehi among others.
