The Mysore Warriors women’s team for the inaugural Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 2025 was announced here on Saturday.
The event brought together team members, partners, and supporters in celebration of women’s cricket and empowerment through sport.
During the event, the 16-member squad was formally introduced to the media. The franchise also announced Shubha Satheesh, who has played test cricket for India, as the captain of the Mysore Warriors women’s team. “Shubha is set to lead a promising group of young women cricketers into the maiden season of the Maharani Trophy. The Mysore Warriors squad is led by head coach Karuna Jain, with the support team inspiring the next generation of talent,” the organisers said.
Arjun Ranga, owner, Mysore Warriors, and managing director, Cycle Pure Agarbatti, said, “As the Maharani Trophy kicks off its inaugural season, the Mysore Warriors are excited to be part of this event and contribute to the growth of women’s cricket. We are thrilled to launch this vibrant team and proud to have Shubha Satheesh as our captain.”
The franchise launched the Mysore Warriors anthem, composed and performed by music director Raghu Dixit. The anthem stands for the pride, resilience, and spirit of the rise of women in cricket, a press release from the organisers said.
The Mysore Warriors also announced their social partnership with Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Kergalli, reaffirming its commitment to empowering young girls through access to quality sports equipment. Students preparing to compete at the district level will now have the opportunity to train with dedicated equipment within their respective schools. Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) are residential junior schools initiated by the Government of India to offer quality education to girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, the release added.
The Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 2025 is set to take place from August 4 to 10 at KSCA Alur Cricket Ground in Bengaluru, featuring five teams including Mysore Warriors, Hubli Tigers, Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters, Mangaluru Dragons, and Shivamogga Lions.
