Congress MLC and Siddaramaiah’s son Yathindra said that his father was against giving any ministerial berth to him as long he was the Chief Minister.
“My father has made it clear that I will not get a ministerial berth as long as he is the Chief Minister,” Mr. Yathindra told reporters in Mysuru on Friday.
“I don’t mind as I have been made an MLC and given an opportunity to serve the people,” he said.
Mr. Yathindra, who was in Mysuru on Friday, toured the Varuna assembly constituency represented by Mr. Siddaramaiah and addressed public grievances.
Answering a question on the drug menace in Mysuru, Mr. Yathindra said that Mr. Siddaramaiah, too, had received complaints from the general public about the growing menace of drugs in Mysuru, and had issued instructions to the police.
The State police had promised their best efforts, but the Maharashtra police had acted faster after receiving a tip-off about the manufacture of narcotic drugs in the city, Mr. Yathindra said.
The Chief Minister had issued strict warning to the authorities in the matter, he added.
