To generate evidence on the challenges faced by women founders, leaders, and technical professionals in male-dominated industry, a project titled SHElterTech was launched at WE Hub in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The first stakeholder meet too was hosted on the occasion.

The project is an initiative under the ShelterTech platform, co-led by WE Hub and TSIC- Habitat for Humanity. It also seeks to examine gender dynamics across the housing and construction supply chain.

The nine-month project is being executed in two phases.

“Phase I focuses on conducting a comprehensive gender analysis study within ShelterTech startups and the overall sector to assess market trends, investment access, and supply chain roles, ultimately identifying key challenges and recommending actionable best practices. Phase II will implement a structured programme supporting women-led startups in the sector through hands-on bootcamps, B2B market connections, mentorship, and exposure visits,” as per a press release.

Addressing the stakeholders, Sita Pallacholla, CEO of WE Hub, stated, “At WE Hub, we champion gender equity in every sector, including transformative fields like housing and construction.”
