The Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fast Track Sessions Court-2., K.S. Maanu, has sentenced Mansoor alias Mohammed Mansoor, 30, of Sajipa Nadu village, to twenty years imprisonment and imposed fine of ₹55,000 on finding him guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl.

Mansoor was accused of raping the 16-year-old girl on May 30, 2023, and recording the act on his mobile phone after threatening her. The victim’s complaint got registered on December 23, 2023, for offences under Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and under sections 363, 376 (2)(N), 376 (3), 506 of Indian Penal Code in the Mangaluru Women Police Station.

The police arrested Mansoor on July 2, 2024. The case was investigated by police inspectors Gururaj and B. Rajendra, and chargesheet was filed.

The judge on July 30, sentenced Mansoor to 20 years imprisonment and imposed fine of ₹20,000 for the offence of rape of 16-year-old girl. He was sentenced to one year imprisonment and fined ₹5,000 for the offence of criminal intimidation of the victim.
