A day after the alleged sexual assault of a six-year-old girl in a private school at KVR Nagar by a youth belonging to Assam who was engaged for cleaning work, a group of parents staged a protest on Thursday.

The parents questioned the school management for not initiating legal action on the very day, even after the girl had informed a teacher about the crime she had been subjected to. The girl had reportedly been told by the teacher that the inquiry would be conducted on Thursday.

After she had recounted the happening at home on Wednesday evening, a group of parents assembled at the school during the night hours. The accused, Dhanajay (23), was subsequently arrested under sections of POCSO Act and remanded in judicial custody on Thursday.

A group of protesting parents received support of BJP members, and refused to relent. Eventually, police arrested 30 persons. They were released later in the day.
