The Special Court of Sessions for criminal cases against former and present MPs and MLAs, which was expected to pronounce the verdict in a rape case against former Hassan Member of Parliament Prajwal Revanna on Wednesday, adjourned the case till August 1.

The trial in the case, where a 48-year-old woman who was working as a help at the family’s Gannikada farmhouse in Hassan was allegedly raped twice and the act recorded by the accused on his mobile phone, concluded on July 18, and Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat had reserved the case for orders for Wednesday. 

However, on Wednesday, he is learnt to have sought clarification on certain matters and asked for a document pertaining to the case and adjourned the case till August 1.
