The District Coordination Committee meeting on leprosy eradication was convened in Krishnagiri and was chaired by Collector C. Dinesh Kumar.

Under the National Leprosy Mission, seven blocks and urban center has been selected for door-to-door screening camps. According to administration, the screening will be carried out in two phases. In Phase I, from August 1 to August 20, screening camps will be carried out in Kakkadasam, Barur, Shoolagiri and Hosur. Phase II screening camps will be held from October 24 to November 10, in Samalpatty, Singarapettai, Bagalur, and Jegadevi.

According to the administration, volunteers and health workers will carry out the screening and public are urged to cooperate with them.

Screening will also be carried out in schools, colleges, factories, eateries, and markets and special awareness campaigns will be also organised.
