Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday (July 24, 2025) directed officials concerned to alert the people in areas where there was scope for flooding, as tanks and lakes were filled to the brim due to incessant rains. The district collectors should review the situation with departments concerned from time to time in view of the heavy rains forecast for the coming days. Mr. Reddy, who is presently camping in New Delhi, spoke to officials of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

The collectors were directed to take steps to ensure that people in the affected areas were not put to inconvenience and initiate relief measures for the people, especially those living in low lying areas. The Chief Minister instructed the district administrations to work in close coordination with the departments concerned in providing relief measures to the people.

Steps should be taken to see that there was no loss of life or property because of the heavy rains and the officials were asked to stay put in their respective areas to tackle any eventuality arising out of the heavy rains and possible floods. Senior officials at the State level should be in constant touch with the districts’ administration to view the situation and suggest measures for effective relief operations.
