Air ambulances, though prohibitive in cost, may well become a possibility soon if governments step in. ICATT has already started air ambulance services in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the respective State governments. In Madhya Pradesh, for example, ICATT offers 100 flying hours of service and it costs the government Rs. 25 crores annually.
