The Pedabayalu police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man, V Dinesh, while he was allegedly transporting 560 kg ganja in a car near Seethagunta in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. The seized ganja, sourced from Odisha is estimated to be worth ₹28 lakh and can be sold for over ₹60 lakh in some Northern states, according to the police.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Pedabayalu police Sub-Inspector, K Ramana vehicle checks were conducted on the main road. During checks, the police intercepted a car with a fake registration number that was heading towards Anakapalli via Rudakota.

As per S.I. K Ramana, the ganja was being delivered to Sholapur, Maharashtra.

Four individuals involved in the case are at large. A case has been registered
