Srisailam temple management has stepped up measures to prevent any possible spread of seasonal diseases during the rainy season.
Temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao held a review meeting on Tuesday (July 22) with the officials concerned on the steps to be taken to prevent spread of seasonal diseases. Mr. Rao directed the sanitation wing officials to ensure that the temple town is kept clean and hygienic. “Do not allow rain water to stagnate at any place and take steps to prevent breeding of mosquitoes,” he told the officials.
The EO asked the officials to chlorinate the water as per standards and ensure that the drinking water does not get contaminated. He asked them to get the water tanks in the temple town cleaned on a regular basis and inspect the water treatment plant for total dissolved solids (TDS) levels.
Mr. Rao said that all necessary medicines should be kept at the hospital run by the temple management and asked the hospital in-charge to place the indent for medicines with the officials concerned well in advance.
“Create awareness about personal hygiene, drinking boiled water, keeping the premises clean and dry and other steps that need to be taken to keep diseases at bay. Publicity should also be given through the temple public address system,” he said and asked engineering department officials to install boards at important junctions to create awareness on these measures. He also asked officials to distribute pamphlets on the same.
Mr. Rao asked officials of various wings including the temple medical officers, local public health centre and ayurvedic hospital to extend all possible healthcare facilities to the people.
